J. Flowers

Abstract

The influence of sex and ethnicity on work values: The influence of sex and ethnicity on work values was investigated independently and interactionally. The Work Value Survey, developed by Wollacket al., was used as measuring instrument. A stepwise discriminant analysis was applied to test whether ethnicity and sex influence work values. The white subgroup differs from other groups regarding attitude towards income. Furthermore the White group differs from the black and astatic population regarding pride in work. Sex does not appear to influence work values. On the whole, differences found between groups were small. The conclusion is drawn that groups meeting in the work place show corresponding work values.

Opsomming
